Welcome to the Upstate Equestrian
Ministries Fellowship

Our Mission
Statement
Upstate Equestrian Ministries is a
fellowship of Christians who share an interest
in horses and would like to share their faith and show the love of God.
Our Beginnings
In the south, it is not uncommon for someone to ask, “Where do you go to
church?” What the real question is,
“Are you a Christian?” Beating around
the bush is a popular form of communication in the south. These days when people’s rights and moral
laws are so confused, it’s hard to ask certain questions without feeling some
hesitation.
In the hope that there is an interest in the Upstate South Carolina,
UEMF was formed. UEMF's parent group
is South Carolina Equestrian Ministry (SCEM) which is a state chapter of EMI
(Equestrian Ministries International).
EMI originated in May of 1995 under
the leadership of Larry Martin (KY) and Richard McDuffie (SC) who are the
leading founders and consultants for the group. The word of this group started to
spread. S.C. has a state chapter and
felt the ministry could be more effective by localizing. So Richard met with an interested group in
the Upstate of South Carolina on March 2nd, 1998. At UEMF, we are still a relatively new
ministry, but we have a growing membership and we have as wide a variety of
activities as we have a wide variety of disciplines of horseback riding
styles. Our members are all born again believers in Christ, whether Baptist,
Methodist, Presbyterian ... Our diversity is our strength! Join
up today!
If you would like more information about this exciting new ministry, just
keep on looking at all the different pages in this website. There is an email
link at the bottom of every page. We try to update this site every 10 days,
we are adding the photo gallery with new pictures after every event.
Keep in touch and remember God loves you so much that He gave
His only Son, Jesus Christ, and whoever believes in Him shall not perish but
have eternal life. John 3:16. To
all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, he gave the right to
become children of God. John1:12. To find out more about Jesus, how to ask
Him into your life, and have the peace and abundant life that God has already
planned for you-don't delay, email us today. Click here.
If you already know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, live like it and
remember this- you may be the only Bible that some people
will ever see.

For most of us,
our horse activities are what we do for exercise, as well as
relaxation. Whether we are trying to
train a young horse, working a finished horse we want to show, or just
riding for fun, horses take up a majority of our time. Sometimes we spend a lot of our time
alone with our horses and would welcome a time to spend with others. Sometimes our social time begins when we
get off of work and head to the barn.
|
Generally speaking, horse people are outgoing people that like to be
outdoors, active and have a good
time. Having a good time means
different things to different people.
As Christians, we are supposed to set a little higher standard for our
lives and activities. I hope our group
can help realize this higher standard.
Do you feel like you are the only
Christian in the group that you ride with? Would you like to share your faith
but are not sure how? Do you love horses , but do not own one and want to be
involved? We would like to provide
inspiration, fellowship and encouragement for all interested people. We train people who would like to witness
in Bible study classes. We call the class- Bible
studies at the Barn. :o)
